Khambas Kennel, since 1971

The history of Khambas.

"Improving structure, health, temperament while encouraging natural versatility"

Our history of Tibetan Terrier

In 1966 the first Tibetan came into my life. It was a little golden bitch, Krysants Ka-Mo, called Poppy. She was the beginning of a new experience that I never regret.

Some years later Poppy was mated with a Lamleh male, Romestorps Ho-Ang. I kept a cream coloured, good looking male, Sang. He was the winner of the first Tibethund ever, The Teknorama Show in 1971. Angela Mulliner judged. As a price of honour I got a painting of Sang which Angela painted and sent to me.

The Kennel name: the name Khambas comes from Tibet. During the 50ties, when the Tibetans were fighting against China, the rebel people, the nomades Khamba made great efforts to rescue Tibet You can google - khamba and find a whole lot of history from the Khamba tribes.

Khambas Kennel of today

From the sixties until today I have had approximately 150 puppies. Soon will 40 years have passed since my Poppy ate my first car. During the years I have always had at least two dogs at the same time, except at the end of 1999 when I had one dog only, Yamdok Apilaya "Ida". Ida is no longer with me. She was put to sleep in the beginning of 2007. She was my best friend ever!

In the year 2000 I got Idas daughter back from a friend - Khambas Apilaya Chilli Pepper. She is alsp in dogs heaven.

Somes years we had as much as seven dogs in the kennel. Today there are only to dogs and they are father and son. But in a near future Khambas will find one or two bitches and could go on breeding.
